Unknown Instructors

A self-described “punk-jazz-rock-experimental” group, Unknown Teachers match the legendary Minutemen tempo portion of bassist Mike Watt and drummer George Hurley with Saccharine Trust guitarist Joe Baiza and poet and saxophonist Dan McGuire within an inspired fight of hyper-advanced music wits. Released in 2005 by Smog Veil Information and featuring extra visitor vocals from Saccharine Trust associate Jack port Brewer, the Unidentified Instructors’ JUST HOW Things Work record disguised a properly structured study of Dadaist principles behind a façade of free-form improvisation, famous brands which might place a smile over the encounters of both Captain Beefheart and John Coltrane.
