Most widely known for his use Battles so that as an experimental composer in his very own best, Tyondai Braxton began executing and composing in Middletown, Connecticut, in the first ’90s after learning composition on the School of Hartford’s Hartt College. Trying from innovative orchestra to avant-garde jazz to artwork rock and roll with Antenna Terra — which also highlighted Extra Life’s Charlie Looker and Mike Satisfaction of Period — he released his initial solo record in the summertime of 2002. That yr he also created the band Fights with John Stanier of Helmet and Tomahawk, guitarist/keyboardist Ian Williams of Don Caballero, and guitarist David Konopka of Lynx; their debut album, 2007’s Mirrored, gained widespread praise because of its kinetic, exciting take on rock and roll. He came back to his single career in ’09 2009 with Central Marketplace, an orchestral recording released from the Warp label. After Braxton remaining Battles this year 2010, he embarked on the string of tasks and shows, including 2011’s TREMS, a bit created for the Bang on the Can All-Stars, and collaborations using the Kronos Quartet and Philip Cup in 2012. Along with Take flight by Wire, an orchestral/digital piece that debuted at Carnegie Hall, 2013 also noticed the premiere of HIVE, a structure for modular synthesizers and acoustic percussion, in the Guggenheim Museum. The piece was also performed in Poland and Australia before it had been released as HIVE1 in 2015.
