Home / Biography / TurtleDuhks

After an extended time jamming with one another at various folk festivals and fiddle camps, fiddler Lydia Garrison from the Trumansberg, NY-based Turtle Island Wish and banjoist Leonard Podolak and guitarist Jordan McConnell, both from the Winnipeg-based Duhks, finally joined forces within a side task called TurtleDuhks in 2007. TurtleDuhks focus on old-timey and neo-traditional folk materials that has Garrison’s increasing knowledge of clawhammer banjo and drifts sometimes into Celtic place, making them an ideal adjunct towards the members’ respective mother or father rings. The trio released a debut record, True Fan, on Glucose Hill Information (the same label that holders the Duhks’ produces) in 2007.
