Treacherous Three

Among the initial rap groupings on record, Treacherous Three recorded for both of the main old school brands (Enjoy, Glucose Hill) and introduced a faster design of rapping (dubbed quickness rapping) that influenced the afterwards span of hip-hop. Produced by way of a trio of Harlem high-school close friends — Kool Moe Dee (Mohandas Dewese) and L.A. Sunlight (Lamar Hill), plus DJ Easy Lee (Theodore Moy’e) — the group found a previously Bronx-based MC called Particular K (Kevin Keaton) and became Treacherous Three. Soon after the group started executing in 1978, they found that another friend, Spoonie Gee, who’d lately recorded his initial single, was going to record once again for Bobby Robinson’s Enjoy label. They employed for a few months (with Kool Moe Dee specifically spending time focusing on his quickness raps) and documented “THE BRAND NEW Rap Vocabulary,” which equipped the B-side for Spoonie Gee’s 1980 one “Like Rap.” “THE BRAND NEW Rap Vocabulary” upped the ante for all the energetic rappers, and sparked a set of Enjoy classics: “YOUR BODY Rock and roll” and “On the Party” (the second option somewhat cribbed from Grandmaster Flash’s “PARTY”). By 1981, Treacherous Three got moved to Sugars Hill, pursuing fellow Enjoy work Grandmaster Adobe flash & the Furious Five. The singles “Have the PULSE” and “Whip It” had been traditional rap party jams, profiting from Sugars Hill’s crack-house music group: bassist Doug Wimbish, guitarist Miss McDonald, and drummer Keith LeBlanc. Among their live jams with Funky Four AND SOMETHING appeared on the long-playing 12″ entitled Live Convention ’81 (Disco Polish), as well as the trio produced the jump towards the display with 1984’s Defeat Street, where they performed “Xmas Rap” using the debut of Doug E. Refreshing, but split up immediately after. Kool Moe Dee primarily attended university, but started a successful single profession by 1986, while Unique K released his own single solitary in 1987, and DJ Easy Lee do a little creation function. Treacherous Three reunited in 1993 to record their 1st LP, Old College Flava.
