Total Shutdown


The crazed experimental rock of San Francisco’s Total Shutdown first saw the light of trip to a gig on Feb 14, 2000. Vocalist Bob Linder, bassist Nate Denver, guitarist Paul Costuros, drummer Phillipe Nguyen, and saxophonist Matt Hartman all play a number of devices besides their primary ones and, separately, have been involved with everything from overall performance art to loss of life metal. There 1st release came like a break up 7″ with Boxleitner on Thin the Herd Information and it gained an area on Byron Coley’s TOP singles of 2001 within the Town Voice. Compilation looks and limited-edition CD-Rs adopted prior to the one-sided 12″ “Very long within the Making” arrived on blood-red vinyl fabric along with silk-screened addresses in 2002. It had been enough to attract the attention from the generally electronic-leaning label Tigerbeat6, who released the band’s self-titled debut in 2003.
