Time and Distance

Just like Dashboard Confessional is ultimately Chris Carrabba, Period and Range is ultimately Greg McGowan. In the beginning began as something to simply take up period after departing his prior music group, the Charleston, WV-based vocalist/songwriter found his classical guitar and started pouring his center out. Expanding past merely playing for himself in the home, McGowan documented a demo to market at local displays and a devoted hometown following progressively grew. Still unsigned, Period and Length released the EP LOSS OF BLOOD for a justification in Sept 2003 through I-Surrender and was shortly playing expenses with Taking Back again Weekend, Midtown, the Reunion Present, and Punchline, among various other emo/punk acts. As time passes, Time and Length was curved out with a complete music group, while still keeping its acoustic root base readily available. Joining McGowan had been guitarist Derek Reese, bassist Aaron Squared, and drummer Ryan Ware. The music group following tapped the sought-after Matt Squire (Anxiety! on the Disco, Northstar) for creation duties on the debut full-length, JUST HOW IT OUGHT TO BE, self-released in August 2006. With the year’s end, everyone but McGowan acquired still left the group, departing Time and Length stripped back off to its single beginnings. By nov 2008, the group acquired agreed upon with California-based NOT BY YOURSELF Records and produced programs to record their third record by using manufacturer Rob Freeman (Houston Phone calls, Hit the Lighting). July 2009 found the discharge of the causing record, Gravity, which McGowan acquired documented by using drummer Tom Gascon and bassist Jeff Motekaitis.
