The Willows

The Willows bloomed in 1950 from Harlem because the Dovers: Richie Davis, John Steele, Ralph Martin, Joe Martin (twins), and Bobby Robinson. Tony Middleton changed Robinson who remaining in 1952 to open up a record store on 125th Road that became Fury Information. The Dovers constructed a reputation fighting other groups; they often times used with Gloria Lynne’s group, the Delltones; Lynne later on recorded on High quality with the Tires before going single. Pete and Goldie Doraine became their managers and financed the organizations’ 1953 debut, “Like Bells,” independently Pee Dee label, because the Five Willows. Three singles adopted on Allen Information in 1953 that balm egos but do nothing for his or her lender accounts. After two flops on Herald in 1954, they strike because the Willows (shedding the “Five” for reserving reasons) on Melba in 1956 with “Chapel Bells May Band,” offering Neil Sedaka on chimes. It blasted to quantity 11 R&B but passed away at quantity 62 pop because of the Gemstones’ quantity 14 pop cover. The Cadets and Sunny Gale also performed the cover video game. They didn’t possess any more strikes but hung difficult until 1965. Platters on Eldorado and Eliminated in 1957-1958 acknowledged to Tony Middleton & the Willows proceeded to go undetected; ditto for singles because the Willows on Golf club and Warwick Information. The Martin twins, Freddie Donovan, and Dotty Martin (Joe’s wife) had been the Willows for just two non-starters on Heidi Information in 1964. Along with a lineup offering Tony Middleton and Richie Davis made an appearance within the ’70s to operate the doo-wop revivals; but from the ’90s, the Willows wept forget about.
