Like a founding person in Field Music, drummer Peter Brewis wooed indie pop enthusiasts along with his band’s combination of Uk guitar pop and Beach Boys harmony. The trio got a hiatus in 2007, prompting the bandmates to go after their own tasks in the interim. While David Brewis shaped School of Vocabulary, brother Peter got a curveball method of his own composing, peppering his indie rock and roll epics with strings, piano, left-hand converts, and efforts from a broad cast of music artists (including his companions in Field Music). The tracks were then documented and packaged beneath the moniker the Week That Was, and a self-titled recording made an appearance in 2008.
