In 1993, cast-offs from many alternative roots outfits (Cracker, Mojo Nixon, Poi Pet dog Pondering) formed the Ugly Us citizens in Austin, TX. Bassist Sean McCarthy acquired organized Atlantic Spirit jams on the renowned Antone’s membership, where he fulfilled drummer Dave Robinson, business lead guitarist Potential Evans, tempo guitarist Bruce Hughes, and vocalist Bob Schneider. After adding organist David Boyle and getting an area on 1994’s H.O.R.D.E. Tour, the Ugly Us citizens released a self-titled live record in 1995 and backed the Dave Matthews Music group and LARGE HEAD Todd & the Monsters. Agreed upon to Capricorn that season, the band caused manufacturer Don Gehman on the studio room debut, Stereophonic Spanish Journey, released in 1996. It had been followed 2 yrs later by Increase Boom Baby.
