The Soft Winds

Guitarist Supplement Ellis, pianist Lou Carter, and bassist John Frigo were all associates from the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra when, in 1946, they made a decision to type a trio and venture out independently because the Soft Winds. Reminiscent, however, not derivative from the Nat Ruler Cole and Web page Cavanaugh trios, the Soft Winds remained jointly until 1950. Most widely known for jointly composing “Detour Forward” and “I Told Ya, I REALLY LIKE Ya, Now Obtain Out,” the music group struggled for a couple years before splitting up. The 16 choices that they documented for Majestic and Mercury in 1947 and 1949 possess unfortunately hardly ever been reissued, however in 1995, Carter conveniently persuaded manufacturer Hank O’Neil release a 13 previously unidentified classic acetate recordings that he previously from the music group. The Soft Winds acquired a reunion which was documented that calendar year by O’Neil’s Chiaroscuro label, with Carter (who acquired an extended, if low-profile profession), Frigo (today a violinist), Ellis (still in his best), and bassist Keter Betts all in great type.
