The Sisters

Chicano lady group the Sisters teamed East LA siblings Rosella, Ersi, and Mary Arvizu. Found out by maker Billy Cardenas, the trio authorized to Del-Fi Information; their debut program, recorded in the famed GoldStar studios with long term Love users Arthur Lee and John Echols among the program players, generated an excellent 1964 rendition from the oft-covered “Gee Baby Gee”; the follow-up, the Sisters’ undertake the Jessie Hill traditional “Ooh Poo Pah Doo,” presented Ersi on lead (Rosella typically assumed the helm), but like its forerunner failed to capture on at radio. The group’s last solitary, 1965’s Sam Cooke cover “I REALLY LIKE You (For Sentimental Factors),” was also the final official Del-Fi discharge; even though the Sisters shortly disbanded, Ersi ultimately have scored a belated graph hit as an associate from the Latino rock and roll combo Un Chicano, whose instrumental “Viva Tirado” damaged the pop Best 30 in the springtime of 1970.
