The Red Clay Ramblers

Perhaps one of the most authentic from the string music group revival groupings, the Crimson Clay Ramblers performed traditional Appalachian folk music and modern compositions, and mixed styles with such skill and specialist that for a long time these were considered one of the better of the present day revivalists of string music group music. The Chapel Hill, NC-based quintet included Tommy Thompson (banjo, vocals), Jim Watson (electric guitar, mandolin, vocals), Mike Craver (piano, harmonium, vocals), Jack port Herrick (bouzouki, electric guitar, harmonica, bass, cello, flute, harmonium, vocals), and Clay Buckner (fiddle, harmonica, vocals). The Ramblers reached their widest viewers through their function scoring and executing in off-Broadway productions; among their most extremely acclaimed albums was their rating from Sam Shepard’s A Rest of your brain.
