The Polkaholics

The Polkaholics were born away from Chicago’s alternative music picture from the 1990s. A variety of affects eventually converged in the forming of this original punk polka group. Business lead vocalist/guitarist and biostatistics teacher Don Hedeker was the frontman of Jumping Balls — a music group dedicated to conserving the uncooked power of ’70s punk rock and roll — along with the musical half of the poetry-music duet Algebra Suicide. Bassist George Kraynak hailed from your punk-pop clothing New Rob Robbies and drummer/visual designer Mike Werner was area of the tempo portion of the acclaimed alt-country group Handsome Family members. Out of the meeting from the thoughts came a fresh insurgent sound whose origins are equally due to polka story Li’l Wally because the Ramones. Their self-titled debut premiered in 1999 and included mostly polka requirements. Their 2001 follow-up, Polkas on Acoustic guitar, revolved around music group originals performed within the Polkaholics inimitable punk polka design.
