The Palace Guards

A British Invasion-influenced garage area band well-known in the brand new Orleans area in the past due ’60s, the Palace Guards were formed in 1966 by singer Les Grey, drummer Frank Bua, bassist Richie Faber, and guitarists Glen Acombe and Jeff Miller. Their initial one, “Better Things you can do” b/w “Sorry,” premiered that same calendar year on Frank Udoe’s regional U-DOE Information imprint and both edges of the one became well-known on local r / c, resulting in four even more singles using the label. Ray Morant on piano and body organ and Doug Davis on 12-string acoustic guitar were put into the group in 1967, fleshing out the audio and providing it a far more soulful advantage, even though the group always taken care of some sort of Byrdsian jangle. Faber and Acombe remaining the music group a year later on in 1968 as well as the Palace Guards caused a lineup of Bua, Morant, Miller, and fresh bassist Bobby Fonseca until finally phoning it quits in 1970. Equipment Fab Information released the group’s whole recorded result, including both edges of most five singles and extra unreleased and alternative paths, as the solitary disk Complete Recordings in 2007.
