The New Cars

With bands just like the Killers, Interpol, and Franz Ferdinand breaking through in 2005, former Cars guitarist Elliot Easton and keyboardist Greg Hawkes surely got to thinking. With all of this ’80s-affected music appearing within the pop graphs, perhaps it had been time and energy to revive the Vehicles and reconnect with music followers. The two contacted the other making it through users, David Robinson and Ric Ocasek — 5th member Benjamin Orr experienced lost his fight to pancreatic malignancy in 2000 — but neither was interested. It appeared like the theory was completed until Easton brought his aged friend Todd Rundgren’s name up, even though Hawkes was skeptical the rock and roll & move maverick even would think about the gig, he was amazed when Rundgren enthusiastically approved. Rundgren earned two aged friends who he previously caused before, previous Utopia bassist Kasim Sulton and previous Pipes drummer Prairie Prince. Rehearsals had been held in key, and the band performed a couple Western Coast club times in early 2006 and released a snippet of the brand new but incredibly classic Vehicles sounding track “Not really Tonight” to the web.
