The Mirettes

Once the 1964-1966 release from the Ikettes — Robbie Montgomery, Vanetta Fields, and Jessie Smith — made a decision to leave Ike Turner’s organization to record independently, they utilized the name the Mirettes to record for Revue. The trio’s cover of “Within the Midnight Hour” simply missed the very best 40 in 1968, and Revue released a likewise titled LP later on that year. Additional choices for addresses, “On the nice Ship Lollipop” as well as the Spencer Davis Group’s “Continue Running,” didn’t make the graphs. Another LP adopted, 1969’s Whirlpool, for the UNI label.
