The Microphones

The Microphones was the alias of Anacortes, WA-based lo-fi psych-pop mastermind Phil Elvrum, also known for his are an associate of K Information bands D+ and Aged Time Relijun. Carrying out a group of cassettes on the neighborhood Knw-Yr-Own label, including Cables and Cords, Exams, along with a self-titled work, the Microphones released their first full-length work, also titled Exams, in the Elsinor label within the fall 1999. Don’t Wake Me Up made an appearance on K another summer, implemented in 2000 by Home window and IT HAD BEEN Hot We Remained within the Drinking water. 2001 saw the discharge from the Glow Pt. 2, which added brand-new dimensions towards the Microphones’ sprawling audio. Shortly after the discharge of 2003’s idea record Mt. Eerie, Elvrum made a decision to retire the Microphones moniker and continuing to tour and record beneath the name from the collective’s last record.
