Without “proper” music skills upon their formation in Surrey, England, the Lemon Kittens epitomized the “anything goes” spirit of later-’70s post-punk in the U.K. Karl Blake, who lower his teeth in various outfits before the Lemon Kittens, began the music group with Gary Thatcher and a revolving ensemble of others (which at one stage included future Substitute TV leader Tag Perry), but during the discharge of their initial EP in 1979, the seven-song Spoonfed + Writhing 7″, the group’s lineup highlighted Blake, Thatcher, N.
