The Junior Varsity

Emo rock clothing the Junior Varsity originally came jointly in 2002 around guitarist Andy Wildrick. An EP, several displays around central Illinois, and many lineup changes afterwards, the group released their initial full-length, THE FANTASTIC Compromise, on United kingdom Records. By this time around, the Junior Varsity comprised Wildrick, Chris Birch (drums), Serigo Coronado (electric guitar), Asa Dawson (vocals/bass), and Nick Dodson (keyboards). The record received good testimonials, prompting the people to quit university to focus on the music group full-time. They performed and toured behind the record whenever you can, playing near 200 shows following album’s release. Regular and effective gigs in Chicago brought the music group to the eye of Success Records, ultimately inking a cope with the label in Oct 2004. That same calendar year, the Junior Varsity also donated the monitor “Raining in Baltimore” towards the 2004 Keeping track of Crows indie tribute record Dead and Fantasizing. For their Success debut, Matt Squire (Midtown, Northstar) was known as in for creation responsibilities; Wide Eyed was documented more than a five-week period and released in July 2005. Touring continuing, including various schedules with Sullivan, Amber Pacific, NUMBER 1 Weapon, and labelmates June, amongst others. Success re-released THE FANTASTIC Compromise in-may 2006 with extra tracks along with a reward DVD. After documenting for four weeks, the music group revealed a musical modification of path in June 2007 having a rawer and much more aggressive release entitled Cinematographic.
