The Hanson Brothers

When Rob and John Wright weren’t busy fronting the eclectic and bizarre punk group Nomeansno — which stormed away from Victoria, Uk Columbia, in the first ’80s — these were busy using a few close friends within the less challenging side task the Hanson Brothers. The Hanson Brothers, called following the pugilistic hockey siblings within the Paul Newman film Slap Shot, forewent the complicated rhythms and funk-jazz tendencies of the mom group to enjoy a dumb-punk tribute towards the Ramones. As the Hanson Brothers fall considerably lacking sounding just like the Ramones, they actually shout out melody countdowns like their heroes and provide such parody offerings as “Blitzkrieg Hops” (test lyric: “Hey! You! Let’s brew!”). The group’s debut LP, 1992’s Gross Misconduct, produced no bone fragments about being within the heart of dumb fun and small else (specifically with lyrics that rhyme, for instance, “Zamboni” and “spumoni”). A sophomore work, Sudden Death, implemented in 1996. Like its forerunner, it abounded with silliness and hockey designs.
