The Four Mints

Columbus, Ohio natives’ Ben “Pete” Caldwell, Adam Dark brown, Donald Russell, and Jimmy Harmon were the 4 Mints, a music group who all recorded for Costs Moss’ Capsoul Information. The label’s roster also included Johnson, Hawkins, Tatum & Durr (“You Can’t Blame Me”), Kool Blues (a duo offering John Primm and Costs Gilbert), Marion Dark (“Continue Fool”), Elijah & the Ebonites “Sock It to ‘Em Spirit Sibling,” and Ronnie Taylor (“Without Like”). The group’s initial one, “You’re My Desire,” got limited play in a few minor marketplaces. Caldwell, the business lead singer, composed both sides from the midtempo wailer (afterwards included on a small number of compilation albums, including Dynamite Spirit Tranquility, and a North Soul preferred). Their second discharge was their finest minute, “Row My Motorboat,” led by Caldwell and compiled by Dean Francis. It had been a preferred of young organizations and bedroom-mirror performers, and constantly brought ovations when performed by local people at talent displays. “Row My Motorboat” strike the R&B graphs, and was their biggest record. The achievement of the music prompted their just LP, Lightly Down Your Stream, in 1973. (Expenses Moss reissued the LP on Compact disc in 1995, as THE INITIAL Four Mints), and took the Four Mints gigging towards the Washington, D.C. region, Kentucky, Indiana, and Michigan. Another and final launch, “Can’t Obtain Strung Out” (released in 1973), under no circumstances got began; disenchanted, the fellows disbanded.
