The Drams

After beloved Tx alt-country act Slobberbone played their final show in 2004, Brent Best, the group’s guitarist and singer, did some musical soul-searching. He asked various Dallas region music artists to his house studio, so when he wasn’t documenting other rings, he was having some fun along with his personal demos. Out of the single experimentation period arrived the Drams — an alternative solution nation quintet that’s in fact even more pop than nation. With Greatest playing the part of frontman and guitarist once more alongside Slobberbone guitarist Jess Barr and drummer Tony Harper, enthusiasts from the lately defunct band had been eager to listen to exactly the same music through the Drams. But if Slobberbone had been substitute country-rock, the Drams are substitute country-pop. Previous Budapest One frontman Keith Killoren welcomed his fresh part as bass participant for the Drams as well as the group was presented with added sizing from pianist/organist Chad Stockslager, also of Budapest One. The Drams’ debut recording, Jubilee Dive, premiered in July of 2006.
