The Dharmas

Led by vocalist Simon Steadman, the Dharmas had been perhaps one of the most appealing British bands from the mid-1990s. While their music was solidly rooted in Brit-pop and United kingdom folk-rock, their usage of fiddle, rather than guitar, being a business lead instrument provided them a distinctive sound. Agreed upon by Arista’s United kingdom department, the Dharmas visited focus on their debut record. When the label refused release a it, after its conclusion, its relationship using the band started to sour. Getting away from their agreement, they transformed their name to Steadman and released their following recordings on Steadman’s personal label, Freeloader. While several singles, including “Three Kilometers Large”, “1 DAY Die” and “Runaway”, had been released within the Johnny label, the Dharmas’ recording remains available just by mail purchase.
