The Constellations

Led by vocalist Elijah Jones, the Constellations focus on eclectic, rhythmic electro-rock that recalls the sounds of Beck, Gnarls Barkley, as well as the Heavy. The Atlanta-based collective includes a revolving lineup of regional pop, hip-hop, and rock and roll musicians, many of whom — including Cee-Lo and rapper Asher Roth — added to the music group’s debut recording, Southern Gothic. With Jones phoning the photos and Grammy-winning maker Ben H. Allen behind the planks, Southern Gothic was documented in 2008 and released by Allen’s personal label, Make Information Not really Bombs. The Constellations reissued the recording two years later on, this time using the support of EMI. In 2012, the Constellations came back using their sophomore work, Do It free of charge, featuring the solitary “Best Where I Belong.”
