Philadelphia’s Bigger Fans — vocalist/guitarist Bret Tobias, guitarist Ed Hogarty, bassist Scott Jefferson, and drummer Patrick Berkery — debuted in 2001 with THE WAY I Learned to avoid Worrying, a crucial beloved that aligned the quartet with like-minded Big Superstar/Byrds/Music group devotees want Pernice Brothers, Waxwings, and Beachwood Sparks. Within the can since 1999, the record was shelved when its first label — North Carolina’s Disposition Food — proceeded to go belly up. Once the LP do finally show up, it bore the insignia of Dark Pet dog, a Mississippi-based indie. Fortunately, a few of this label dilemma was alleviated by solid critical reaction to Worrying, in addition to solid Western european distribution. The music group became an excellent live act, as well, and appeared to group the U.S. several times on the next season. The Bigger Fans returned to polish in August 2002 with Honey within the Hive (Yep Roc), a far more concentrated fix because of their power pop jones. This Affair Hardly ever Happened appeared 2 yrs later.
