The Voom Blooms

George Guildford (electric guitar/vocals), Thom Mackie (drums), Craig Monk (electric guitar), and Brett Little (bass) play the tawdry, stylish indie rock and roll sounds from the Voom Blooms. Hailing in the university city of Loughborough, the British foursome came jointly in 2005. Their initial one, “Politics & Smoking,” a punchy nugget offering chiming guitars and Guildford’s cockney-like drawl, produced an impressionable debut afterwards that fall. BBC’s Steve Lamacq championed the tune on both his Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music radio applications. The one was reissued in March 2006 on Fiction/Polydor and sold-out in a single week, increasing the excitement from the Voom Blooms’ i’m all over this NME’s membership tour. With extra show dates helping Babyshambles and Boy Eliminate Boy under their belt, the Voom Blooms became a member of manufacturer John Fortis (Razorlight, Artwork Brut, the Pipettes) in springtime 2006 for the yet to become titled EP.
