Swells

Hailing in the fertile Austin, TX, music picture, the Swells customized in swirling wish pop similar to British shoegazer groupings such as Trip, Lush, and My Bloody Valentine, and made richly textured music soaked in sprawling atmospherics and chiming melodies. Vocalist/songwriter David Malerba initial produced the group in 1992, but within a couple of years, the original incarnation from the Swells acquired dissolved. Nevertheless, by 1997, Malerba acquired recruited bassist Alison Cabral, guitarist Andrew Arthur, and drummer/keyboardist Kenneth Suter, and it had been this lineup that documented the group’s initial EP, electrostaticvibraverb, released on the neighborhood Sandwich Information to reviews that are positive in nov 1998. Several music from this discharge had been included on Western european compilations, and shortly the group acquired attracted a global pursuing. Bolstered by this achievement, the Swells started documenting the full-length Yesterday’s Music in nov 1999; the record premiered in early 2000 in the Sandwich label. Following documenting of Yesterday’s Music, the music group underwent some lineup adjustments, as Kenneth Suter give up and was changed by brand-new drummer John Spae. Rachel Staggs, of Experimental Aeroplanes, also emerged aboard because the Swells’ keyboardist. In March 2001, the music group performed on the South by Southwest Music Meeting to enthusiastic crowds and started documenting their second EP quickly thereafter.
