Sunshine Anderson

Though she sang in musicals and talent shows throughout her childhood, Charlotte, NC native Sunshine Anderson was discovered while she was waiting in-line within a cafeteria at NEW YORK Central University, the institution where she earned a B.S. in legal justice. A pal of manufacturer/Soulife A&R Vice Leader Mike City noticed Anderson humming while she waited and released her to Town. After she graduated from university, Anderson shifted to Washington, D.C., and got a government work in recruiting, but ultimately relocated to LA, where she caused City on her behalf debut and discovered a supervisor in critically acclaimed vocalist Macy Grey. Propelled with the one “Heard EVERYTHING Before,” Anderson’s initial record — 2001’s YOUR LOVER — reached number 2 on Billboard’s R&B albums graph and eventually proceeded to go gold, offering over 800,000 copies. Sunlight at nighttime, released on Mathew Knowles’ Music Globe label and offering the help of Raphael Saadiq (aswell as Town), premiered almost six years afterwards and didn’t fare nearly aswell. Apart from one monitor, Anderson’s third record, SUNLIGHT Shines Once again (2010), was created entirely by Town.
