Storm Corrosion

A collaboration between Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt and Porcupine Tree’s Steven Wilson, Surprise Corrosion finds both frontmen finally coming together to create their creative might to carry around the music world. As the two have already been admirers of every other’s function and collaborators before, with Wilson generating a few of Opeth’s greatest albums (Blackwater Recreation area, Deliverance, Damnation) and Åkerfeldt sometimes contributing acoustic guitar on Porcupine Tree albums, it wasn’t until 2010 that both could actually begin focusing on initial music as their fresh task. With neither songwriter attempting to drill down too deeply to their past function for motivation, the audio strays from the metal globe, acquiring it into even more large, ambient waters than either of their main gigs. The set authorized on with Roadrunner in 2012 and released their self-titled debut through the label later on that year.
