SQÜRL

SQÜRL may be the new name for film movie director/guitarist Jim Jarmusch’s trio Poor Rabbit, who have released the Limitations of Control EP soundtrack to his film from the same name. Poor Rabbit was shaped in ’09 2009 when Jarmusch and Carter Logan recruited program musician and engineer Shane Stoneback. Their audio is definitely percussion-heavy with detuned and droning guitars, loops, and cassette recorders drenched in responses. The music melds from cut & screwed hip-hop to nation to stoner metallic and soundtrack-like atmospheres. The group’s debut, EP 1, premiered in a restricted release in the past due springtime of 2013. EP 2, which presented a remix from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, found its way to November of this year.
