Sooliman E. Rogie

Sooliman Rogie, better known with the initials S.E., was, until his loss of life, one of the better known and cherished music artists from Sierra Leone. Noted for his sun-drenched, calypso-esque music, Rogie were able to combine his musical lifestyle with a profession in tailoring until a string of strikes in the ’60s propelled him into full-blown professionalism and reliability. He is most widely known for the tune “My Lovely Elizabeth,” that was widely included in West African music artists. In 1973 Rogie immigrated to America, and afterwards still to Britain, where he passed away, in 1994, soon after releasing his Compact disc Dead Guys Don’t Smoke Weed.
