Skeets Yaney

b. Clyde A. Yaney, 16 June 1912, Mitchell, Indiana, USA, d. 20 January 1978, USA. Playing acoustic guitar and harmonica, Yaney became perfectly known, owing partly to his abilities like a songwriter and, chiefly, like a radio disk jockey. He also worked well in an exceedingly popular double take action with accordionist Frankie Taylor as Skeets And Frankie, performing hillbilly music on radio, chiefly on KMOX in St. Louis, Missouri. He secured the gig with KMOX simply by turning up in the studio room at five each day, making himself obtainable until seven, and leaving and likely to his day time job on an area building site. This resulted in work presenting advertisements and he was quickly popular for slots during the day and the building work was background. He was noticed on the favorite Saturday night barn dance, broadcast live from your studio room, and on Sundays he gladly sang hymns on the air flow. Yaney and Taylor managed two pubs, one in St. Louis, another in Gravois. He produced live looks at these organizations and elsewhere, occasionally leading his Country wide Champion Hillbillies. In 1980, 2 yrs after his loss of life, Yaney was inducted in to the Nation Music Deejay Hall of Popularity.
