She’s Spanish, I’m American

Soon after the discharge of his seventh studio room recording, 2006’s Subtitulo, indie vocalist/songwriter Josh Rouse teamed up with Spanish vocalist Paz Suay to create the aptly named duo She’s Spanish, I’m American. Training of a flat in Valencia, Spain, both documented a self-titled five-song EP that nodded towards the retro-loungy puffiness of Dark Moth Super Rainbow, the rainbow-tinted atmosphere from the Flaming Lip area, as well as the ethereal synthiness of organizations like Galaxie 500 and Stereolab. The disk premiered on the bed room Classics label in 2007.
