Following the further reunion and third divided from the hugely successful Verve, lead singer Richard Ashcroft, inside a job re-invention not too dissimilar to fellow ’90s frontman Damon Albarn, put together several soul musicians to create RPA & the US of Sound. Given birth to in Wigan, Greater Manchester, in 1971, Ashcroft released three studio room albums with alt-rock take action the Verve in the ’90s before getting into a solo profession that spawned three Best Five albums and ten Best 40 singles.
