Ross Hannaman

Vocalist Ross Hannaman was created and raised in London, earning an evergrowing reputation on her behalf cabaret work when she signed to EMI in 1967 to pursue a profession in pop music. Her debut solitary, “1969,” made an appearance two years ahead of its name — better still was its B-side, the lush “Most likely on Thursday night,” among the 1st documented collaborations from EMI staffer Tim Grain (after that Hannaman’s sweetheart and supervisor) and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Grain and Lloyd Webber also authored the follow-up, “Down Through Summer months” — like its forerunner, the single proceeded to go nowhere and Hannaman’s single profession was essentially completed. The Evening Regular nevertheless called her its “encounter” of the entire year in 1968 — immediately after she wedded EMI producer Tag Wirtz, and jointly they wrote music beneath the aliases Philwit and Bigsby; in addition they recorded together because the Sweetshop, reducing the one “Barefoot and Tiptoe” within Wirtz’ unfinished masterpiece A Teenage Opera.
