Rivulets

Minimalist singer/songwriter Nathan Amundson began saving while Rivulets in 1999, when his self-titled debut was issued by Seat Kickers’ Union, the Duluth, Minnesota label work from the veteran slowcore clothing Low. Often powered only by tone of voice or quiet acoustic guitar, Rivulets was frighteningly mild, yet genuinely effective. The brooding like songs of Tag Kozelek’s Red Home Painters had been an apt assessment, as had been the severe, windswept soundscapes of Iceland’s Sigur Rós. Frequently, the music recommended the isolation and unusual beauty bought at the center of the iced-over lake in the center of winter. Rivulets’ extra audio was also augmented sometimes by various music artists, including Low principals Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker. Between 1999 and 2004, Rivulets released some CD-EPs and added to varied compilations. Two full-length albums made an appearance through Seat Kickers’ Union, 2002’s self-titled work, and Debridement a 12 months later. The YOU HAVE Your Personal EP found its way to 2004 using the YOU MIGHT BE My Home recording pursuing in 2006 on Essential Information. The Stray Tunes 2000-2010 collection was an electronic download that made an appearance this year 2010, while 2011 noticed the introduction of both Yearlings EP (self-released) as well as the recording We’re Fucked (Essential Records).
