Ray Columbus & the Invaders

One of the better New Zealand sets of the ’60s, and the first ever to successfully respond to the adjustments wrought from the Uk Invasion. Getting started as a reasonably accomplished clothing in the mildew of Cliff Richard & the Shadows, though rawer, the group strike the top from the graphs in both New Zealand and Australia with “She’s a Mod” in 1964. A cover of the obscure British defeat single from the similarly obscure Senators, it got obvious motivation from “She Enjoys You” using its “yeah-yeah” chorus, nonetheless it was a solid tranquility rocker that was one of the primary singles from the ’60s in Australia.
