Randy Kohrs

Producer and nation designer Randy Kohrs was created in Iowa, where he found the classical guitar at age eight. His like for stringed tools started to quickly blossom, as he’d eventually learn guitar, acoustic and electrical Dobro, lap and pedal metal, mandolin, upright bass, and banjo (affected by famous brands Flatt & Scruggs and Buck Owens). Ultimately, Kohrs began support other performers, including Patty Loveless on the taping of PBS’ Austin Town Limits, and also other Television looks by Tom T. Hall, Holly Dunn, and Hal Ketchum, furthermore to session use Hank Thompson, Walter Hyatt, and Hank Williams III (leading to Kohrs becoming nominated 2 times for Dobro Participant of the entire year from the International Bluegrass Music Association). Oct of 2001 noticed the discharge of Kohrs’ single debut documenting, A Crack in my own Armour, in the Junction label. He’d visitor on three Dolly Parton albums and she’d return the favour in 2004 when Kohrs’ I’m Torn arrived in the Lonesome Time label. Featuring visitor vocals from American Idol contestant Melinda Doolittle and released by Rural Tempo Records, Old Photo implemented in 2007. A video for the album’s “Who’s Goin’ beside me” topped the CMT Pure Nation playlist, and an appearance on Rachel Raye’s day time talk show presented Kohrs to a complete new market. In 2008 he produced his solo musician debut on the Grand Ole Opry and gained a Grammy for his contribution to Jim Lauderdale’s record The Bluegrass Diaries. In ’09 2009 he released the compilation Hornography on his Still left of Middle label. The record was focused on guitar machine Tim Scheerhorn and highlighted Kohrs, Jimmy Ross, Rob Ickes, among others, all playing resonator guitars.
