The Rail Music group goes on many names — Super Rail Music group, Rail Music group International, Rail Music group du Buffet Resort de al Gare — but by whatever name they may be called, they may be adored by Malians for his or her vibrantly eclectic music projects. Founded in 1969 by virtuoso ngoni participant Tidiane Kone, the Rail Music group play an attractive mixture of traditional Manding and Bambara music, Latin dance music, and American rock and roll. Their lyrics adhere to the original praisesong model, but accept contemporary pop motifs. Like many rings in Mali, the Rail Music group survives through the musical patronage program: in cases like this the Malian railroad program. The lineup from the music group has changed very much since its formation and offers seen a few of Mali’s leading performers go through its rates, nonetheless it still performs outside every Saturday in the unpretentious cafe-bar in Bamako a dedicated local audience.
