Rabbi Shergill

Rabbi Shergill’s primary contribution to music is based on the usage of Punjabi — which previously had a status similar compared to that of either Bhangra or traditional folk — to produce acoustic rock-based ballads, providing a fresh musical perspective to the language. And along with his poetic, socially relevant lyrics and a grown-up alternate sound, Shergill immediately linked to an urban masses who cherished him for his authentic and original method of his tunes. Shergill began his musical profession by composing jingles for numerous ad organizations. Having struggled for about five years release a a debut, Shergill released his self-titled record in 2005 through the recently produced Phat Phish Information. Counting on word-of-mouth promotion and an excellent video, Rabbi Shergill was an instantaneous success. The music “Bulla Ki Jaana Primary Kaun” was the most regularly played non-film music of 2005 in India. After a space of 3 years, Avengi Ja Nahin premiered in 2008.
