Point of Grace

A long-running and top-selling CCM vocal group, Stage of Sophistication were originally formed in the first ’90s around Denise Jones, Heather Floyd, and Terry Lang. The ladies knew one another while developing up in Norman, Oklahoma, but just began singing jointly (as the Ouachitones) if they all went to Ouachita Baptist School in Arkadelphia. By 1991, the group acquired added Shelley Phillips to create Say Therefore (later Stage of Sophistication). The CCM quartet started touring, and a first-place finish in the group competition on the Christian Performers Workshop in Estes Recreation area, Colorado caught the attention of the term label, which agreed upon the quartet, launching a self-titled debut record in 1993. Their 1995 follow-up, THE COMPLETE Truth, extended the pop-R&B audio of their initial album with rock and roll and folk affects. A year afterwards, Life, Like & Various other Mysteries topped Christian graphs and became a platinum best-seller. In 1998 Stage of Grace came back with Regular On, which, as the name suggests, discovered them accurate to the training course lay out on prior releases. Xmas Story adopted in 1999 with a variety of vacation chestnuts and initial songs. Their following new recording didn’t show up until springtime of 2001, but ahead of Free to Travel a rarities collection, Rarities & Remixes, premiered. Stage of Grace’s following task was an ambitious one. They structured some concerts and meetings directed at teenage ladies with ample period at each conference for question-and-answer classes. A companion Compact disc to the meetings, Girls of Sophistication, premiered in 2002, having a web host of feminine Christian performers all thinking about addressing the problems and pitfalls of developing up. Another season a double-CD retrospective, 24, premiered with a lot of POG’s strikes and one brand-new tune. In 2004, a previous person in Christian choir Truth, Leigh Cappillino, changed Terry Lang Jones, as well as the quartet released I Choose You, implemented a year afterwards by Wintertime Wonderland. The country-infused How YOUR HOME IS premiered in 2007, and in 2008, (Floyd) Payne still left the group. Afterwards that season, Tennessee Xmas: ANY OCCASION Collection was released.
