Plena Libre

Founded by bassist Gary Nunez in 1994, Plena Libre reclaimed the long-ignored Puerto Rican folklore-derived plena design from your obscurity after its short ’50s/early-’60s popularity. Modern dance arrangements had been everything was had a need to come back the design to prominence; the group’s debut recording, Juntos Y Revueltos, was documented on the shoestring spending budget, but proved an instantaneous feeling on the isle. Following recordings included an eponymous 1998 recording, Plena Libre’s 1st for the worldwide marketplace. Mas Libre adopted two years later on.
