Paulo Carvalho

The drummer and background singer for popular Portuguese music group the Sheiks in the mid-’60s, Paulo de Carvalho found fame after stepping in to the limelight like a soloist. Departing the Sheiks in 1968, de Carvalho continued to earn the Event RTP of Music in 1974 and 1976. Infused by UNITED STATES R&B, funk, and African music, he made a few of the most interesting dance music to emanate from Portugal in the 1970s. De Carvalho has already established a long participation using the Celebration RTP of Melody, having produced his celebration debut in 1970. After earning your competition for the very first time in 1974 with an interpretation from the Jose Calvario- and Jose Nize-penned “E Depois Perform Adeus,” he gained with a genuine composition, “Portugal in my own Center,” performed using the music group the Friends, 3 years afterwards. De Carvalho collaborated using the London Philharmonic Orchestra on two albums: Alana, released in 1994, and Carvalho, Ribeiro, Freitas among others, released in 1999.
