Ostkreutz

Ostkreutz uses an “audiovisual terror” design of electro-rock that is clearly a multimedia assault in the senses. The Berlin-based action, named after among the city’s principal S-Bahn (i.e., suburban metro railway) lines, was started in 2004 with the masked person who phone calls himself Optimum. More often than not, the music of Ostkreutz may be the creation of Optimum, who’s the band’s guitarist, engineer, songwriter, and conceptualist. While Optimum may be the musical mastermind behind Ostkreutz, the visible mastermind is certainly one who phone calls himself Medium. Addititionally there is Optimum, who’s a drummer. The monikers selected by these three bandmembers are based on the overall goal of Ostkreutz, which is certainly to inspire interest through several mediums. Aside from the electro-rock music of Ostkreutz, for example, the bandmembers style themselves with surprise trooper-style masks and non-descript work matches; perform multimedia-driven concerts within this apparel; create striking movies for tv and the web; web host a puzzling network of websites; and accept propaganda. The band’s vocals are sparse and stark, blending German with British. Ostkreutz released a maxi-CD, Gangbang, on Warner in Apr 2006 in expectation of their full-length debut, Electric motor, that was released in Sept.
