Opus III

Opus III had a few strike tracks in the early-’90s ambient home scene before business lead vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw embarked on an effective venture down the road in the 10 years being a freelance vocalist, dealing with a few of dance music’s most effective performers. The group’s debut record for Atlantic, Brain Fruit (1992), included the popular tracks “It’s an excellent Time” and “I Speak to the Blowing wind.” The group obtained notoriety for merging ethereal feminine vocals using the ambient home sound associated with similar well-known groups through the era just like the Orb and Enigma. Also in 1992, while Opus III was encountering their peak reputation, Hawkshaw caused Orbital on the second record, the landmark Orbital 2.
