Rio en Medio

Rio en Medio may be the nom de plume of Danielle Stech-Homsy, who sang, played ukulele, and created “soundscapes” by using several other music artists on her behalf 2007 record The Bride-to-be of Dynamite. Released on Devendra Banhart’s Gnomonsong label, it mixed spectral indie folk-rock-oriented vocalist/songwriter music with uncommon instrumentation and noises not from the genre. A number of the lyrics had been extracted from literary text messages by poets and authors; the wide range of musical instruments performed by her accompanists included digital percussion, cello, jew’s harp, and noticed. Delivered in New Mexico and located in New York at that time the record premiered, she had started recording songs just in magic formula, but her music was found out by Banhart when he arrived to the house of CocoRosie’s Sierra Casady while Casady was playing it. Banhart consequently confident Rio en Medio release a music through Gnomonsong, & most of the materials on The Bride-to-be of Dynamite was actually recorded on her behalf own, with no intention of earning it commercially obtainable.
