Following a demise of Equal Vision Files emo action Fairweather in 2004, drummer Shane Johnson and guitarist Peter Tsouras wished to begin something new together, and therefore joined makes with bassist Nick Barkley, who was simply a vet of varied Washington, D.C., rings and got toured a little with Fairweather before. On the recommendation of a pal, the trio known as up former COMPLETELY NEW Catastrophe vocalist Phil Williams to full what would after that become the rock and roll device Olympia in past due 2005. The group documented its first demonstration in January 2006 and performed its 1st gig a few months later. Centered out of D.C. (though people also hailed from Richmond, VA), Olympia unsurprisingly captured the interest of Fairweather’s older label, Equal Eyesight, and became the official section of its roster immediately after the conclusion of their debut recording in nov 2006. An eponymous four-song EP was released that November, which preceded the Apr 2007 launch of Emergencies, an intense record that presented the straightforward rock and roll sound (believe Foo Fighters) that Olympia wished to attain. Touring through a lot of all of those other year followed.
