Nic Armstrong

An Austin, Texas-based Englishman with an eclectic retro-pop palette, Nic Armstrong and his music group the Thieves set Beatlesque melodies with bluesy American trad rock and roll and vintage Kinks, Who, and Rolling Stones-inspired acoustic guitar riffage. Given birth to in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Armstrong spent his formative years immersed in music and artwork, eventually shifting to Nottingham to help expand his research. After submitting a demonstration recording to some nationwide skill competition organized from the publication Dazed & Puzzled, Armstrong got a recording agreement with One Small Indian, which would continue to concern his debut long-player, THE BEST White colored Liar, in 2004. That same 12 months the band became a member of Paul Weller on his Western tour, and in 2005 they produced their abroad debut at SXSW, accompanied by looks on Austin Town Limits as well as the Late Display with Craig Ferguson with Coachella. In 2006 Armstrong released If WE CAN NOT Get away My Pretty beneath the name IV Thieves via New Western. Armstrong ultimately relocated towards the bustling music mecca of Austin, Tx, where he setup shop and started documenting both solo and with the Thieves, with whom he released the EP Pocketless T-shirt in 2013, with programs for another EP in early 2015.
