Mother Goose

Produced in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1975 and selecting themselves turned down by their house country, Mom Goose emigrated to Australia in 1976. Their initial single ‘Baked Coffee beans’ was a novelty strike which triggered the music group many complications in associated with a wider rock and roll audience. Just like the Town People, each member dressed up in a personality’s outfit, and their stage choreography intended that the viewers were amused musically and aesthetically. The line-up comprised Kevin Collings (acoustic guitar), Denis Gibbins (bass), Craig Johnston (vocal), Marcel Rodeka (drums), Steve Youthful (keyboards) and Pete Dickson (acoustic guitar, changed by American Justin McCarthy in 1979). The music group was never in a position to get rid of the novelty picture despite the fact that its recorded result was of a higher standard, as well as the mime and satire in its stage display had a significant edge. Although Mom Goose released three albums they by no means accomplished significant radio achievement, despite being among Australia’s most widely used live acts, having a fiercely faithful following. The music group spent 1978-79 in america, but record organization troubles avoided them producing any inroads into that marketplace. On go back to Australia the music group centered itself in Perth. Once the third recording enjoyed some achievement in Canada the music group moved there, operating beneath the name Getting Party, before time for Australia to split up in 1984.
