David Olof Peter Pagmar (better referred to as Montt Mardié) is really a Swedish singer/songwriter whose ethereal, soulful falsetto and genre-bending sensibilities nod to likeminded Scandinavians like Jens Lekman, Tobias Fröberg, and Loney, Dear. His debut record, Drama, premiered on Hybris in 2005. An EP, Research, was released twelve months later, before the release of the double record, 2007’s Clocks/Pretender. The record included a disc of duets offering performers like Jens Lekman, Hello Saferide, Andreas Mattson, and Vapnet.
